I-Connect gateway for MagiCNet v 0.15b (beta version)
-----------------------------------------------------

Feedback, bugreports, suggestions and any other constructive comment
is strongly recommended. Please send it as e-mail to me.

Features:
---------
- You can use the I-Connect clients under MagiCNet

Requires:
---------
- MagiC 5 or newer with configured and running MagiCNet or
  possibly MiNT/MiNTNet (untested).

Installation:
-------------
IConnect gateway responds to GEM messages, so it will not run
from the \AUTO folder. It can run from \GEMSYS\MAGIC\START\
or from any folder if one wishes to run it from the desktop.

There is a file called ICON_SET.CNF, this should be filled
with your ISP's mail services and personal account settings.
It should be located in the same folder as ICONNECT.PRG or
in your u:\etc\ folder.

I-Connect clients:
------------------
- Emailer, CAB.OVL and fiffi work fine on my setup, both localy and
  through window$ routers.
- GET_IP.APP, NET_TIME.PRG also work fine.
- CON_INFO will not cause any harm but better avoid it!
- Chatter seems to work, please report.

- For non-blocking connections with CAB.OVL (I-Connect version)
or other I_Connect clients, one can start RSDAEMON.PRG, this
will run in parallel to the gateway and use MagiC-Threads for
resolving. You can also put this program in this folder:
  C:\GEMSYS\MAGIC\NET\ICONN_GW\RSDAEMON.PRG and the gateway
will load it automatically each time it starts (and kill it
  if one kills ICONNECT.PRG).

Note:
-----
Using RSDAEMON.PRG under MiNT does NOT work (MagiC threads).

This version of the gateway understands the GEMSCRIPT protocol
as the original I-Connect. So, one can for example change ISP
and personal settings through scripts. Note though that there
is still no way to call an ISP using this method, since MagiCNet
has network support and the gateways always report an 'online'
state. Maybe pppd_GEM can respond to such messages in the future.

Bugs:
-----
- The dialer (ICONNECT.PRG) will not run and may crash the system.
(Now ICON_GW is called ICONNECT.PRG for other programs to be
able to find it, so the 'real' dialer can't be run anyway :-)
